PAMPANGA -- A descendant of Andres Bonifacio said she wishes for the disclosure of the location of the hero's remains.

In line with the City of San Fernando’s commemoration of the 152nd birth anniversary of Bonifacio, his descendant Makati City Police forensic chemist Andrea Bonifacio said she is hoping that the remains of the Katipunero and and that of his brother Procopio will be traced.

MABALACAT CITY -- Elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Luzon (PDEA) scored in simultaneous high impact operations which resulted in the dismantling of two drug dens and the arrest of 12 drug personalities, including seizure of 106 grams of shabu at 19th Street, Lakandula, Mabalacat, Pampanga on Monday.

PDEA Regional Director Gladys F. Rosales identified the arrested suspects in the first raid as Joseph G. Tanglao, 30; Carlo P. Dela Cruz, 20; Enrico P. Uavel, 41; Fredie A. Ariza, 42; Lester N. Pontilo, 33; Armalyn A. Santos, 27; and Heidi C. Lacardin, 41, all residents of Mabalacat.

PAMPANGA -- The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Revenue Region 4 (RR4) here is set to facilitate the closure of tax delinquent establishments before the second week of December under its Oplan Kandado Program.

BIR RR4 Regional Director Jethro Sabariaga, who did not identify the targets of the closure order, told Sun.Star that at least five establishments in Pampanga and other towns under the revenue region may be closed just before the second week of December.

Andy Alviz and his group Arti.StaRita started the festival in 2002, which originated from the long standing tradition of pounding and winnowing unripe glutinous rice (lacatan) and turning it into a light pale gold or green delicacy called "duman."

ANGELES CITY -- At least nine immigration officers and confidential agents have asked Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner Siegfred Mison to relieve the Alien Control Officer (ACO) of the bureau's field office here in connection with alleged irregular visa processing of Chinese nationals at Clark Freeport.

In a letter dated November 19, 2015, the immigration officers also requested Mison to subject Janice Christine de Jesus-Corres, Chief and Alien Control Officer of BI Angeles Field Office, for an investigation “over suspicious Chinese nationals whose visas are being extended by their office.”

PAMPANGA -- A water supply problem may occur again as Angat Dam is receding approximately 0.79 meter a day due to irrigation and domestic use.

Last Friday afternoon, the water level of Angat Dam was at 208.30 and it is expected that after one month, will be at 184.06 meters, and on Christmas Day, at 180.09 meters.

ANGELES CITY -- Two additional municipal trial courts (MTCs) in Angeles City and two more for Mabalacat City and Magalang have been created by a law signed by President Benigno Aquino III recently.

Aquino signed House Bill 2409, authored by Pampanga First District Representative Joseller “Yeng” Guiao, into Republic Act 10694, amending Batas Pambansa Bilang 129, otherwise known as The Judiciary Reorganization Act of 1980.

PAMPANGA -- Police said the suspected gunman in the killing of Malolos City Regional Trial Court Judge Wilfredo Nieves was killed when he tried to grab the gun of his police escort on their way to San Jose Del Monte City, Bulacan on Monday morning.

Chief Superintendent Rudy Lacadin, Police Regional Office-3 director, identified the slain suspect and alleged gunman as Arnel Janoras, 43, a resident of Dela Costa Graceville, San Jose Del Monte City, Bulacan.

PAMPANGA -- A dump truck hit a concrete electric post at Barangay Sampaloc, Apalit early Sunday morning that caused a 19-hour brownout in six towns.

About 4:30 a.m., the towns of Minalin, Santo Tomas, San Simon, Apalit, Macabebe and Masantol experienced power outage. Power was restored 11 p.m. the same day.

CLARK FREEPORT -- Two major Asian private equity firms are investing US$150-million to construct five office towers inside this Freeport.

The project, which will be implemented by ADM Capital and BPE Asia Real Estate, is one of the largest investments by foreign investors in the Philippines' real estate sector.

PAMPANGA -- A Grade 10 student from the province of Pampanga placed first in the regional poster-making contest organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) as part of the 2015 Consumer Month Welfare (CMW) celebration.

PAMPANGA -- Presidential Merit Awardee for Ecclesiastical Art sculptor Wilfredo Layug is now in Tacloban with two three feet replicas of the Our Lady of Hope of Palo to mark the anniversary of the disaster wrought by Supertyphoon "Yolanda" (international name: Haiyan) in the Visayas.

It could be remembered that Yolanda whipped tsunami-like waves in Eastern Visayas on November 8, 2013, killing more than 6,000 people, mostly in Leyte.

CLARK FREEPORT -- Officials of Clark International Airport (CRK) have assured passengers that security measures are in place to ensure that no incidents of “laglag-bala” will happen in the country’s alternate airport.

This was learned from Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) head Emigdio Tanjuatco III, who said that they implemented security measures to protect their passengers amid the “laglag-bala” or bullet planting scheme of some personnel gypping passengers at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

PAMPANGA -- Members of the Society of Communicators and Networkers (SCAN) International filed on Thursday libel and unjust vexation complaints against Lowell Menorca II, an expelled evangelical worker of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC), with San Fernando Prosecutor’s Office.

Alvin Cudia Abata, president of SCAN-City of San Fernando Chapter, and several members of the group trooped to the prosecutor’s office at about 11:10 a.m. to file the complaints against Menorca.

6 Nov 2015 - BCDA turns over SCTEx to MNTC

MABALACAT CITY -- State-owned Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) formally turned over on Thursday the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEx) to the Manila North Tollways Corporation (MNTC) in a simple ceremony held at the SCTEx Toll Operations Center Building.

On October 16, President Benigno Aquino III approved the Supplemental Toll Operations Agreement (STOA) among BCDA, MNTC and the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) formally putting the concession to manage, operate and maintain the 94-kilometer toll road to MNTC.

PAMPANGA -- n executive judge of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Third Judicial Region in this capital city has asked for the transfer of detained real estate developer Delfin Lee to another jail facility amid alleged threats to his life.

According to reports, Lee now fears for his life with his impending transfer to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) facility in Barangay Telabastagan here, after Executive Judge Divina Luz Aquino-Simbulan, in a letter dated October 29 to Judge Maria Amifaith Fider-Reyes, the presiding judge of RTC Branch 42 hearing the case of Lee, "advises that the appropriate Court Order" from the latter be issued "directing the transfer of accused Lee."

PAMPANGA -- Energy Secretary Carlos Jericho Petilla said that a vital mix between conventional energy sources and renewable energy ventures would be the ideal "power mix" for the country that would eventually reduce power prices.

Petilla, during an interview after his visit at the Pampanga II Electric Cooperative office here said that he is pushing for renewable energy for health and environment reasons. However, Petilla was quick to note that coal power generation would still remain.

The City Government of San Fernando, through its City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO), held Wednesday the first Barangay Rescue Olympics at the mini-convention center of Heroes Hall.

CDRRMO head Raymund Del Rosario said five selected barangay rescue teams composed of a crew of seven, which were chosen from a field of 18, participated in the Olympics, which covered various situations and disaster and calamity scenarios.

PAMPANGA -- Fourth District Representative Juan Pablo "Rimpy" Bondoc said Monday that some P380 million has been released by the national government to resolve the flooding problem in the fourth district of Pampanga.

Bondoc said P80-million of the said budget will be allocated to build a cut-off channel and bridge that will allow for the straight flow of water from the municipality of Arayat to Manila Bay.

PAMPANGA -- The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO) here said Tuesday damages on infrastructure and crops caused by Typhoon "Lando" reached nearly P57 million.

MDRRM officer Benjamin Santos reported P34-million worth of damage to agriculture and P23-million worth of infrastructure.

2 Nov 2015 - Central Luzon has highest fishery harvest; 48% coming from Pampanga

Despite being placed as fifth highest only in terms of production, Central Luzon was recognized with the highest value of fishery harvest in the country based on the records of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR).

During the culminating activities of the agency's Fish Conservation Month, BFAR National Director Asis Perez disclosed that Region III currently has the highest value of harvest with 41.3 percent.

PAMPANGA -- Flood victims in Pampanga's seven towns that were recently placed under a state of calamity received some P4-million worth of relief goods from the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) through the San Fernando Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (SFFCCII).

The relief operation covered some 11,120 families in the towns of Arayat (1,650 beneficiaries), Candaba (1,750), San Luis (1,600), San Simon (1,600), Apalit (1,750) Macabebe (1,170) and Masantol (1,170).
