30 Jun 2010 - Pamintuan starts day one with jobs fair

ANGELES CITY - Mayor Edgardo "EdPam" Pamintuan will start his first day of work Thursday by launching a jobs fair at SM City Clark dubbed "Trabahong Pang-Angeleño."

The fair will gather some 34 firms, mostly from the Clark Freeport Zone, which will offer thousands of job opportunities to Angeleños.

CLARK FREEPORT - About 90 representatives from various locators inside this Freeport attended the orientation dubbed "Gradual Phase-Out of Mercury in all Philippine Health Care Facilities."

29 Jun 2010 - Cops train vs tandem riders

PAMPANGA -- Twenty police officers in the province have embarked on a seven-day training course in preparation for the battle against motorcycle tandem riders responsible for the rise of crimes in the province.

Police Chief Inspector George Meneses said on Friday that the motorcycle riding course, initiated by acting provincial police director Petronio Retirado and conducted by the Highway Patrol Group 3 (HPG3), was designed to counter criminal elements riding on motorcycles and pouncing on hapless victims.

Garcia, who is an expert in art conservation, toured the Clark Freeport for two weeks taking photographs of the many scenic locations around this former United States military installation.

CLARK FREEPORT – A Taiwanese firm is set to pour at least $30 million for its expansion project inside the Clark Freeport, the Clark Development Corporation (CDC) announced.

CDC president Benigno Ricafort said the state-owned firm has recently signed lease agreement with Multi-Tek Fasteners, Inc. Chair Paul Chang at Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) Corporate Headquarters in Taguig City recently.

ANGELES CITY -- A total of 34 culinary arts students from two batches finally harvested the fruit of their labors as they received their certificates and toques (chef's hat) during the graduation ceremony of the Metropolitan Occupational Science and Technology (Most) Institute of Culinary Arts held at the Shanghai Palace Restaurant Balibago last Saturday.

During the ceremony poured tears among the head chefs and students as head chef Eric Castañeda put emphasis on the word "chef".

24 Jun 2010 - Donation to Aetas not valid

CLARK FREEPORT -- Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) Executive Vice President Alexander Cauguiran said in an interview Wednesday that the donation to Aetas is not valid as is "probably suffering legal infirmities."

Cauguiran said the fact finding committee found out that there is no deed of donation executed between the Aeta tribes and CIAC President and CEO Victor Jose Luciano. "There is also no memorandum of agreement between them," he added.

CLARK FREEPORT -- Probe body is set to submit Monday its findings on alleged unauthorized demolition of building at the civil aviation complex of Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC), an airport official said.

This development, however, runs contrary to the earlier statement of CIAC president and chief executive officer Victor Jose Luciano that he has been cleared by the CIAC board after it found nothing irregular on the said demolition of old buildings.

19 Jun 2010 - Trooper falls to death in skydiving exercise

CLARK FREEPORT -- An official of the Philippine Army on Saturday confirmed the death of a Filipino soldier during a skydiving training in the ongoing RP-US Vector Balance Piston 10-2 war exercises at the Air Force City Base here.

Army spokesman Ronald Jess Alcudia said the Army trooper was among the Filipino and American soldiers who jumped from a US C-130 plane on Friday morning as part of the sky jump training of the war exercises that started on June 14.

CLARK FREEPORT -- Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC) President Victor Jose Luciano said Thursday that his involvement on the alleged "unauthorized demolition" of at least 16 buildings in the complex was cleared because the donation was made in "good faith."

Luciano said the Presidential Management Staff (PMS) has allowed the demolition of the old buildings and other old materials within the aviation complex of CIAC.

18 Jun 2010 - Soldier dies in skydiving exercise in Pampanga

CLARK FREEPORT -- A Filipino soldier died during a skydiving exercise at an Air Force base in Pampanga Friday morning, a military spokesman said.

Army spokesman Maj. Ronald Jess Alcudia said the soldier was part of a group of Filipino and American soldiers who jumped from a US C-130 plane above the Air Force City in Clark Air Base. He withheld the soldier’s name pending the notification of his family.

ANGELES CITY -- Mayor-elect Edgardo Pamintuan said Thursday that his administration will help the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) in developing the Pamintuan Mansion into a historical center and museum for the people of Angeles City and Pampanga.

To support his claim, Luciano presented a letter dated June 23, 2009, signed by Secretary Hermogenes Esperon that states that "the Office of the President has approved the request of Oscar Rivera, Chairman of Bamban Aeta Tribal Association (Bata), for the donation of DMIA [Diosdado Macapagal International Airport]'s old buildings and other materials for their livelihood programs."

CLARK FREEPORT - The board of directors of the Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) assured Candaba Mayor Jerry Pelayo of an investigation on the "unauthorized demolition" of at least 16 buildings.

CIAC chairman Nestor Mangio said a probe team has already been created to facilitate an investigation.

Arroyo arrived here at 7:15 p.m. and formally opened the photo exhibit that showcased a collection of photographs depicting the life of Angeles, also called Apung Gustin, as a "poor boy of Pandan", a family man, an entrepreneur and one of the pillars of AUF.

CLARK FREEPORT -- Police authorities here belied reports that the slay victim, whose body was found in an empty water drainage Tuesday, belonged to a Korean woman.

Clark Development Corporation (CDC) Security and Fire Department chief Nicanor Targa said that there are no indications that the victim is a Korean national according to their investigation.

MABALACAT -- A 36-year-old man was killed in a shooting incident along the MacArthur Highway in Barangay Dau here on Friday.

The victim, Teddy Mallari Bondoc, 36, single, of Villa Quintana, Sitio Balaba in Barangay Dau here, sustained gunshot wounds on the head and body, police said.

According to a ranking official of the Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC), who preferred not to be named, Pangilinan, a top businessman who hails from Apalit town, and SMC president Ramon Ang "sealed" a proposal recently to jointly develop the terminal expansion seen to accommodate seven to 10 million passengers annually.

CLARK FREEPORT - The body of a pregnant woman wrapped in a bed sheet was found in an empty water drainage inside the Freeport Tuesday.

Senior Superintendent Nicanor Targa, Clark Development Corporation (CDC) Security and Fire Department chief said a nylon cord was also found around the woman's neck.

9 Jun 2010 - Bio-ethanol plant to rise in Pampanga

CLARK FREEPORT -- The Department of Agriculture (DA) here announced Wednesday that Enviroplasma, a Korean firm, has partnered with the Central Luzon Bioenergy Corporation as its joint venture domestic company to put up a $300 million bio-ethanol plant here.

The DA said that it would be the first time that a Korean company will venture into bio-ethanol production in the Philippines, which is expected to double the country's ethanol supply by 2012.

ANGELES CITY -- A 26-year-old tricycle driver, believed to be under the influence of illegal drugs, reportedly hacked his wife and two children inside their house at Sitio Hadrian in Barangay Balibago Saturday.

Senior Inspector Danilo Bautista, city police director, said Ranie "Tisoy" Sumalinug, 26, nearly killed his wife Ruby Jordan, son, and daughter who sustained serious injuries.

ANGELES CITY -- A defeated mayoralty candidate filed an election protest, saying massive fraud and vote buying happened in 185 clustered precincts in this city during the May polls.

In a protest case filed through his counsel Sixto Brillantes on May 24, Mayor Francis "Blueboy" Nepomuceno said he is "protesting and impugning the counted and/or canvassed results in all of the 185 clustered precincts in Angeles City" as the election "was attended and marred by rampant vote buying perpetrated with impunity by the protestee (Mayor- elect Edgardo "Edpam" Pamintuan) with the assistance of his followers and cohorts."

ANGELES CITY --- The city police filed murder charges against four other persons involved in the killing of Marcelino Ibanez Jr. at dawn on June 1.

Police identified the suspects as Julius "July" Magnaye, 27; Allan "Jose" Ocampo, 23; Catherine Pritos, 24; and Christine Lebrida, 23.

A 15-year-old, who earlier surrendered to police, revealed to police investigators that the four have a direct participation in the killing of Ibanez Jr., who was stabbed to death inside the Mendoza compound along the Hadrian Street in Mountain View Subdivision, Barangay Balibago here on Tuesday.

ANGELES CITY -- Three men were found dead inside an abandoned Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) in Angeles City, Pampanga on Thursday morning. The victims were identified as Florencio “Jack” Yap, Dennis Guinto and Rene Tetangco.

Initial investigation disclosed that all 3 bore multiple gunshot wounds to the body and were probably killed in another area and then dumped in Barangay Pampang to mislead police probe.
